The Whispering Pines Lodge is a custom, hand-hew, log home and is a perfect year around getaway providing many recreational opportunities including hiking, snowshoeing, fishing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to name a few. Our cabin is nestled in the mountains at 8,700 feet between Rocky Mountain National Park and Arapaho National Park. The cabin is located by Sun Valley Lake (a private 22 acre non motorized lake), just a few miles North of Grand Lake, Colorado.
Super cabin for families! Really well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and other extras. Love the bunk beds for the kids and the little playground. Very clean and so cute. Great location away from too much hub bub. We say mommy and baby moose near the lake. Would highly recommend this cabin!
The log home was clean and well stocked with extra towels and linens, ziplock bags, spices, plastic containers, BBQ utensils, soap and body wash, etc. The canoe and paddle boat (with a variety of different sized life vests) were used daily as were the bikes. We were expecting a murky, muddy lake shore by the common dock but were pleasantly surprised to find more a sandy, clear shore to get into and out of boats.
We stayed at the Whispering Pines cabin for 5 nights with my family and a few extended family members. It was such a nice and relaxing trip! The cabin was very cozy and fit our needs perfectly. It was clean and the beds were pretty comfy. We loved the access to the lake, the canoe, paddle boats, bikes, everything was in great shape! The property and the surrounding areas was so beautiful and we saw plenty of wildlife! We love the quick access to Rocky Mountain National Park as well as Grand Lake. The owners are very pleasant people and very quick to respond to any questions we had. We hope to return again in the future!!
This is a great cabin! Very well stocked and was everything we were hoping for, although the living room area was smaller than expected. But since it was just me and my husband, it wasn't an issue. The area is beautiful and it was so nice and peaceful and the private lake is great for kayaking. We met the owners, and they are such nice people and we enjoyed our talk. One other minor thing - it could use some brighter light bulbs.
